Late Night Coffee and A New School Year

Yeah well, it's been a while since I've written and here is why...

School is back in session!

And these girls are totally keeping me busy!

This year we begin a new year.
A year of learning to learn, loving to learn, and learning to love.
Again. Only this year, more and better.

Every mom who homeschools their kids quickly learns their faults as a teacher.

It seems my biggest challenge is getting up early to start our day.
You see, I am a bit of a night owl.
I just always have been.
I like to get up early on occasion, but mostly... not so much.

Last night, I stayed up until 4 in the morning watching
instructional videos by Jasmine Star on "the you tube".

Those 3 cups of late night coffee made by my husband were not such a brilliant idea.
In this case, we started school a little on the late side. Around nine or nine thirty.
This isn't an every night occurrence, but that's one of the most beautiful things
about our decision for home education.

The difference between the lazy, carefree summer months
and the structured focused school year
is really just time management.

But I just have to say... I love this challenge (and believe me there are many, many more).

I love that in our awesome country, despite any other political conflicts,
we still have the freedom of choice for educating our kids.

Until next time...

  1. Their smiles and laughter are a pretty good testament to what a great teacher you are! It can be hard to make learning fun, but it looks like you've succeeded!

  2. Happy schooling! I love how you captured the joy of a school day in these photos.

Thanks for stopping by!
